A number of riders came out to brace to cold but dry weather. We had six riders leave Gloria Jeans Ascot to head to Byford. Once we got to Mills Rd E it was the back roads to avoid SWHwy until Eleventh Rd.

The majority were waiting inside Dome Byford to warm up before the next cool leg, with temperatures well below 10deg. The DDD was for Harper St Bakery in Harvey, with fourteen leaving for the ride. The usual PBee route was taken starting along Soldiers, then onto the SWHwy at Fisher Rd. Up to Burnside, then a rest stop at Coolup. Taking the loops along Gibbins & Dorsett, then Bristol & Johnston eventually Udec Rd to the Bakery. At this stage the temperature was finally up to 14 degrees but it felt cooler than some of the earlier sections.

After lunch several decided for the direct route home. For the remainder the return leg was the reverse, however after Pinjarra it was along the Corio / Hopeland / Kargotich. After Pinjarra riders started peeling off to make their own way home.

I ended up returning back to Ascot to refuel. Besides the cheap fuel, GJ had a barista shout day giving out free coffees, what a great end to a relaxing days riding.

Thanks, Ralph, for your TEC duties and the remainder for corner marking as required, giving us a hassle-free and enjoyable ride.

Ah sorry I missed the great but cool ride and the free. GJ coffee. Guess I’ll have another swim in the resort pool on Nusa Lembongan, Bali, 28 degrees sunshine to think about that cool Perth Winter
