Arrived safely in Cairns....not all were so lucky. A lotta carnarge out there, both bikes and riders. Not all the starters finished. A couple of riders pulled out on day 3 and hired a chopper normally used for scenic flights to take them back to Darwin from Lorella Springs....at a cost of $9,000!!!!!! My bike has developed a small weep/leak from the final drive which i will get checked out before flying out on Thursday. Got some great footage for the next YouTube video which i hope to load up around 29th of July before returning to Cairns to ride back across the Top End to Drysdale. The front tyre may have made a difference. I guess i will never know unless i repeat the trip with a standard knobby fitted. The new 1200 Adventure makes a crap rider look competent and a good rider look like an expert. It has so much electronic fruit on it that it compensates for a riders lack of ability. I might have to get me one of those.
Get out there!!!!

Great that you made it safely Steve. Looking forward to viewing-the videos . You might have to do a presentation at a club function when you get back.
Did you keep the big Dunlop on for the trip across the top?

Had the tyre fitted when i got to Darwin and will leave it on for the return journey across the Top End to Gibb River Road. Shane is taking a tyre suitable as a runout for me from Broome back to Perth. I'll fit that for the run home after the OCR
